ISTANBUL CEVAHIR 5TH ANNIVERSARY: ISTANBUL, TURKEY, OCTOBER 2010 - Ten Days
Berg was commissioned to build a mix of old and new architecture to celebrate the fifth anniversary of Istanbul Cevahir, the largest shopping center in Europe. In Berg's composition, replicas of ancient landmarks of historic Istanbul culture including Hagia Sophia, Galata Tower, and Maiden Tower were paired with a reconstruction of the modern Cevahir Shopping Centre. The atrium floor and balconies of the shopping center were crowded with visitors throughout the ten day event.The project received press coverage and interviews in every major national television, news publication, and a live spot on the most popular late night television show.
